Nancy Lewis

Nancy is a native speaker of English, but has been studying Spanish since 1996 & teaching it since 1998. She has traveled to Mexico, Belize, Costa Rica, Colombia & Peru. She hopes one day to travel to all of the Spanish-speaking countries of the world.

Suresh Raghavendra

Suresh grew up in South India speaking a few Indian languages and English, albeit with an accent. He has an avid interest in learning new languages and Spanish seemed like an obvious choice when he moved to Phoenix. He caters to Nancy’s mantra: ‘Teaching is the best form of learning’; so he is at the studio trying to improve his Spanish through teaching what he knows!

Brenda Saenz Alvarado

Brenda is a native of Guatemala where she has lived most of her life. She is a nutritionist with a post degree in Food and Nutrition Security and is currently studying for a Masters in Public Health. Brenda has experience teaching both Spanish & English and is happy to share her knowledge with anyone interested in learning.

John Reafleng - Special Guest Instructor

John is a professional Spanish instructor who has been teaching and learning Spanish for nearly 15 years. He has traveled extensively throughout Mexico and Spain and, having grown up in Phoenix, has a great respect for Latino culture. John believes that language learning should take place in context, and most of his students find his teaching style to be very inviting to those of all levels. John currently lives in San Francisco but visits us from time to time.
